Export is very important index in economics. It takes very significant part of gross domestic product (GDP). Export is one of precondition for providing the Latvian economic development and it can dispose or reduce deficit of current account. This is the reason why I chose this issue in my project work.
The domestic demand is recently growing here in Latvia, as a result the amount of import is growing. But it is very important to promote competitiveness of Latvian employers in foreign markets.
In my project work I will examine present situation in field of export and consider the measures which government is taking for promoting the export situation.
The aims and tasks of my project work:
to examine and compare the export situation in 2003 and in 2007,
to examine and analyse the measures of export promotion.
Hypothesis: The situation of export in Latvia has grown better in 2007 because of measures taken by government to promote the export.
Export goods or services are provided to foreign consumers by domestic producers. It is a good that is sent to another country for sale. Export of commercial quantities of goods normally requires involvement of the customs authorities in both the country of export and the country of import.
History. The theory of international trade and commercial policy is one of the oldest branches of economic thought. Exporting is a major component of international trade, and the macroeconomic risks and benefits of exporting are regularly discussed and disputed by economists and others. Two views concerning international trade present different perspectives. The first recognizes the benefits of international trade. The second concerns itself with the possibly that certain domestic industries (or labourers, or culture) could be harmed by foreign competition. …
