Excursion starts from Laimas watch, which is very popular meeting place. Description:
("Let's meet at the Laima clock!") or ("Rendezvous at the Laima clock!") - these are very typical phrases for latvians. We all are arranging there a lot of meetings :-)))
And this yellow-brown clock in front of the Freedom Monument has been a meeting place since it was erected by social democrats in 1924.
For decades it has advertised Laima chocolate(the best chocolate in Latvia!), and sweet romance has started here. :-)
The Laima clock was recently repaired and it's time now is synchronised twice a day by satelite.
