In conclusion, I’d like to say that the book wasn’t easy to read. It was like a study book – filled with knowledge but you couldn’t classify it as light reading material. Also the book lacks visual content. Images, schemes, tables, they could have made the book more visual.
Some opinions get rather negative – especially about third chapter’s old marketing. I think people still do these things a lot and they’re being considered as effective, nevertheless I agree about the search engine marketing, it’s more compatible to the consumers wants, but still, for me it can be just as annoying as the old marketing.
When talking about some topics the author get’s carried away too much. For example what talking about “”The Second Life” he’s talking about how awesome and fascinating the game was, at some point I felt like he’s advertising that to the readers.
Still, the book has positive aspects too. Such as – many similar definitions, all explained, lots of advices and real life examples, he doesn’t hold on to could, would, if, may maybe …
After reading the book, you get to know how things work on the internet and stop wondering why.
