Task 3. Answer the questions.
What are the stereotypes embedded in the film? Name at least two.
The first stereotype embedded in the film is that black people are criminals and shouldn’t be trusted. It shows when Leigh Anne talks to her friends about Michael and they started to get worried. Also, it can be seen in the football game. The second stereotype is that you have to be smart and rich to play sports.
Name one of the scenes that you consider impressive. Give a brief description and explain the reasons. (at least 100 words).
I really like the scene where Michael went off to university and the family had to say the goodbyes. While watching it I went through a full range of emotions. It was funny at one second and I had tears in my eyes in the next one. I loved how it had a deep connection through words. For example, at the beginning of the film Leigh Anne said that Michael is an onion, it has to be peeled back layer at a time. Later on, in the film Sean tells the same thing about Anne. In another scene Anne said to Michael:” I think I need a proper hug”, which he later on said to her back when he left for collage.
