Analysis of Text about Bruno Latour – Standards of Textuality and Text Organization

Cohesion – this standard of textuality is prevalent both from the lexical and grammatical perspective. The author of the text the strategy of repetition for such terms as “science”, “facts”, and “knowledge” to strengthen the focus on the central ideas mentioned in the text. Furthermore, the author has achieved cohesion by means of pro-forms, coordinating and subordinating conjunctions (Facts, Latour said, were “networked”; they stood or fell not on the strength of their inherent veracity but on the strength of the institutions and practices that produced them and made them intelligible; At the time, the science wars struck most people outside the academy, if they noticed them at all, as an overheated scholastic squabble), conjunctive adverbs (From the look of relief on the man’s face, however, Latour realized that the question had been posed in earnest), and other cohesive devices (For a moment, Latour thought he was being set up for a joke). The application of this standard of textuality helps the author maintain a logical flow of ideas.
