Gifts for organization/delegation
Chinese people visiting, come with a lot of gifts;
The best gift is for all people something small to present Your company;
If you meet for second time album with photos from last time;
Individual gifts has to be small and cheap (pen, calculator, digital watch, t-shirts or bags with company’s logo etc.);
When they visit You: tickets to local theatre or opera.

When and how to give gifts
At banquets, when say toast, after meal;
It can’t come as a surprise;
They usually don’t open gifts after receiving;
Chinese say thank you phrases after receiving gifts, but they are not happy for too many excitement; (value is in thought)
You have to give gift with both hands;
Better if gift is in red paper, it can be other colors except white.

How to end an unwanted guanxi
Don’t accept gift, if you don’t want to make long term relationship with that person;
You can end relationship, if you never ask favor back;
But in any kind of this refuses, you have to be EXTRA careful, because it is possibility to lose your face;
Even death is not end of guanxi, if your parents die, you take their place in guanxi network.
