Role of Innovation

Another innovation category is radical innovation. Radical innovation is believed to be better and more efficient than incremental innovation.

Radical Innovation is fundamental to business rejuvenation and critical to survival in chaotic times. Incremental innovation and cost cutting measures are not sufficient to sustain company growth and prosperity. While many large, established companies have used acquisitions and external incubators to fuel their growth, internal engines of growth have been often neglected" .
Radical innovation contains new ideas, developing or adapting new technology, or new ways of doing business, is usually more risky and often requires successful new investment. This innovation category also requires information based systems and risk assessment, to high capital costs for business.
If an organization applies to the radical innovation then this organization must develop and improve the relationship between all players in the innovation system and build an internal and communication environment which supports innovation and risk-taking.
