Tesco is the UK's largest retailer of products and non-food products. Here, this brand is known literally to everyone - even in a small provincial town there is a large Tesco. A total of over 2,700 shops of various formats are scattered throughout the country: from the hypermarket to the "shop near the house." The impressive size of the army of regular customers - holders of club cards of 12 million people - is the best proof that Tesco offers its customers an excellent combination of price and quality.
In addition, some 2,700 stores are located in 14 states outside the UK. Most of all in Thailand, South Korea and Poland, as well as in the US, Turkey, China, Hungary and other Asian European countries. Together, all this makes Tesco the leader of not only the British, but also the global retail market. The trading network is the third largest in terms of turnover (after Wal-Mart and Carrefour) and the second by profit (after Wal-Mart).
As a trademark, the name was registered in 1924 (it is considered the year of the company's foundation), in 1929 it first appeared on the store's signboard, and in 1932 several shops were already officially registered with Tesco.
