Without seasonal adjustment, the number of jobs subject to social security contributions in December was 1 561 900. In the year-on-year comparison between sectors, the predominant picture was of growth across the board. The agriculture, forestry and fishing sector saw the highest increase, with growth of 29.4%. In Berlin, the biggest drop was recorded in the sector of temporary work (-1.5%). The number of reported available jobs in February fell by 800, seasonally adjusted, compared to the previous month, after a seasonally adjusted rise of 500 in the previous month. Without seasonal adjustment, the number of jobs in February is 25 000. Year on year, this represents a reduction of 5 300 or 17.5%. The changes in entrants are a better indicator for businesses’ willingness to hire than the changes in existing numbers. In the seasonally and calendar adjusted previous month comparison, there was no change in the number of reported jobs in February. Without seasonal and calendar adjustment, 6 800 jobs were newly reported in Berlin in February, a reduction of 3 500 or 33.8% compared to the same month last year.…
